The desktop CPU lineup known as the 14th Gen Core "Raptor Lake Refresh" was not featured at the recent Intel Innovation event. Instead, the focus was on the upcoming generations of Meteor Lake and Lunar Lake. We will likely have to wait until closer to the expected October 17 launch date of K and KF SKUs for an official announcement. However, the Core i9-14900KF model has gained attention once again due to benchmark results that have surfaced. Passmark's owner, David Wren, announced on social media that the Intel 4th Gen i9-14900KF CPU has claimed the top spot on the single-threaded chart.
In PassMark's single-thread test, the benched Core i9-14900KF scored 4939 points, surpassing the scores of equivalent 13th gen heavyweights such as the Core i9-13900KS with 4769 points and the Core i9-13900K with 4666 points. As a result, Intel's flagship desktop processor without an integrated GPU now holds the highest position on Passmark's single-thread rating table. It is worth noting that the i9-13900KS also has a clock speed of 6.0 GHz, and the 14900KF achieved its score using relatively modest DDR5-5600 memory, as reported by VideoCardz. However, the multi-threaded performance of the 14900KF is slightly disappointing, as it is only marginally better than the 13900K with a narrow difference of 0.6%.
